Microsoft antitrust ruling is a bunch of sour grapes
Apparently, Google has called on a US federal judge to extend the Microsoft antitrust ruling, originally settled in 2002, to include competition concerns involving Windows Vista. They are reported to have said that “more may need to be done to provide a truly unbiased choice of desktop search products“. See full article: “Google takes Vista to court 9:57AM, Tuesday 26th June 2007“.
This “Microsoft versus The World” legal battle has been going on for years. I have never quite understood why everyone thinks its so important to stop Microsoft from making life easier for their users. If Microsoft wants to bundle lots of useful software into its operating system, then please let them do it!
If the Microsoft antitrust ruling of 2002 is just and fair - I think that The Tin-Opener Manufacturers Alliance, for example, could ‘have a go’ at the big food companies for selling tins of food that come with their own openers.
