What is “Web 2.Ownership” a.k.a. “Web 2.0wnership”

Web 2.Ownership - pronounced (”web” “2″ “point” “Ownership”) is the tag given to issues of intellectual property in the age of mass-contribution-websites.

The internet architects reap collective intelligence from the masses.

The masses start to see that they’re contributions have value - thus individuals become more savy about who they donate content to.

The phrase was coined by Johnnie Walker of Colchester, UK who forced it into common parlance through sheer determination and the use of an SEO optimised, incestuous, blog post. He also had a bit of luck and nothing to lose by seeing if he could pull it off.
