Migrating from Parallels PLESK/Virtuozzo to CPanel/WHM

Recently, I have moved a website from a server running PLESK/Virtuozzo to a server running CPanel/WHM.

I have had a few moments when big SQL queries seem to have brought the whole site and WHM server down.

It seems that when the server runs out of memory WHM starts killing processes.

It seems to do it like a monkey with a machine gun.

I’m currently rewriting a lot of my code to break down my website application’s  processes into smaller chunks.

I never had this problem with PLESK/Virtuozzo. Even in worst case scenarios, when PLESK was down, I was still always able to login to Virtuozzo to reboot.

Luckily my hosting company has informed me that we are all getting a Spring bonus of extra memory. So, hopefully that should help to keep the monkey from the door.
