How to re-enable SpamBayes add-on that was disabled by Outlook

Sometimes the SpamBayes plugin for Microsoft Outlook throws a wobbly and, when Outlook starts up, it pops-up a dialogue box asking you to disable this clever little spam filter.

If you just clicked the message to make it go away (without fully reading it) you might get a bit lost trying to work out how to re-enable your trusty spam-fighting ally.

No worries - here is what you do:

In the Outlook menu bar click

  • Help > About Microsoft Outlook > Disabled Items

Then

  • Select “SpamBayes”, and
  • Click “Enable”

I did this, then, just restarted my Outlook (2003 version) and it was working again.
