How much does it cost to host a site on force.com?
I have stumbled across 2 articles about cloud computing today. First, I was reading an interesting discussion about an updated definition of cloud and then I found myself reading a first take on force.com. I was then considering signing up at developer.force.com. But, before I invested any time in learning Apex Code etc I wanted to know how much it costs to host a site in the cloud.
So, here is a quick link to their pricing page:
http://www.salesforce.com/platform/platform-edition/
Maybe I should investigate some more, but, at the time in writing, it says the cost for Force.com Enterprise is $50 per user per month.
I don’t really understand the benefit for a client of attaching the ‘price’ to the ‘number of users’. Surely the point of using web based applications is to be able to the increase the number of users at a disproportionate rate to the increase in cost of the system.
Oh well. I’m sure there is something I’m not getting. Feel free to add your answer below.
